Pompano Beach is the next municipality to the north of Fort Lauderdale. It covers
about 35 blocks along the oceanfront and stretches a mile or so inland. I’m only
including the area east of Federal Highway on this page. I’ve lumped together many
smaller neighborhoods all into Pompano Beach for expediency. There are multi-
There is no real downtown here but Federal Highway and Atlantic Blvd act as the center of town. This area continues to urbanize but overall the feeling is very suburban. With the luxurious neighborhoods of Bay Colony to the south and Lighthouse Point to the north, Pompano Beach is in a great location and has some great deals in waterfront property. It has it’s own golf course and executive airport and is perfectly located between Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Here you are 5 minutes to the beach, 20 minutes to downtown Ft. Lauderdale or downtown Boca Raton, 10 minutes to Pompano Executive Airport and 25 minutes to the International Airport.
